Toon: Prisoners of President Palin

It wasn't until after did this cartoon that I found out Palin had tried to ban the book Daddy's Roommate (A sweet book about a kid with gay dads). So an alternate second line in the first panel might be "Reading Daddy's Roommate to my kids." Also, did you read all about her crazy cronyism in the New York Times Sunday edition (sorry that I can't give you a link, but I read it in print due to my RSI and can't really do any web browsing with my voice dictation software to get the link for you). She's an exact clone of Bush! She's the Taliban! She is so not warm and fuzzy!

Wicked. Love it!
"Mysterious hunting accident" is the perfect choice of words. I can't help but think that there might be a ghastly truth behind the laughter, though. Did you hear yesterday's interview with Barton Gellman on Democracy Now!, about his new book on the Cheney vice-presidency? Listening to Gellman talk about how Cheney basically inserted himself into the VP slot and then proceeded to exercise real power from a position of relative obscurity made me wonder whether this isn't a clever new strategy: Find a presidential candidate who is an electable but easily manipulable dimwit -- or an electable but many-steps-closer-to-death old man -- and vest real power in the hands of a lawless, shameless, viciously right-wing VP.
The added nasty bonus, of course, would be the ironic twist if she did wind up being the first female president. Thinking about what a thumb in the eye that would be to generations of feminists is probably the only thing left that can give some of these guys erections -- you just know it.

As much as I dislike Sarah Palin, she never actually banned any books, just asked the librarian how it might be done (which is still pretty disturbing). The banned book list circulating the internet was proven to be bogus.
FABULOUS!!
