you know what makes me mad?
Sarah Palin. And you know what makes me even more mad? Women who say they will vote for McCain because of her. Never mind the fact that if McCain dies we will have a president that doesn't believe in evolution, doesn't support the right to abortion even in cases of rape incest or to preserve the health of the woman (only to save the life of a woman -- maybe), has made it her mission to deny same-sex partners health benefits, doesn't believe global warming is caused by humans... but hey it's okay! It's cute! She's a mommy! An abstinence only "education" promoting mommy who would appoint Roe-overturning justices in a heartbeat, but an adorable mommy just the same!
And yes, I still have the RSI and it's driving me up the wall. And my voice is getting really hoarse from using the voice dictation software. Also, I have not read a blog or an online newspaper in three weeks. That is really weird! I've actually been reading the honest-to-goodness print newspaper edition of the New York Times.
P.S. Don't get me wrong -- it's not like McCain is some big moderate like he pretends to be. He's anti-choice too, and wants us to stay in Iraq for a gazillion years, among other things. He doesn't have to die and leave Palin in charge to bring us a horrible Bush-esque presidency!

Amen sister!
I don't get it either. To be so bitter and spiteful that voting against every personal belief is beyond absurd. I'm hoping this is just propaganda from the Right to spoke us into believing Obama is a lost cause.
The thing is ,if "Little MILFSunshine" and "G.I Joe" do get elected ,(and let's face it how is Biden gonna get a look in? and It's as if the election is between Obama and her now anyway). Then the only consolation, apart from not living in their next War Zone,is that the comedy/satire people will go from strength to strength,"Comedy Central" might even take over the Democratic Party, and John Stewart could stand for President next time.! Janeane Garafolo as vice running mate..(ha ha)
Seriously,as far as the John Stewart Daily Show phenomenon goes. A BBC features bod pointed out quite reasonably, that John Stewart is now, almost the ONLY "difficult" serious, political interview! (When it's meant to be all "spoof" and all.) With the pathetic Republican-cheerleading Fox news, and the likes of the dreadful Bill O'Reilly ,on the one hand, and the bland-out of NBC and cop-out CNN on the other, the main-stream U.S news is just not doing it's job. (Put me right if i'm way off beam there) There IS something in this, right-wing Governments do seem to spawn good comedy and Art generally. The Thatcher Years brought the U.K some terrific stuff.like "the Comic Strip","Spitting Image","Yes Minister" "A very British Coup","House Of Cards" "2000 AD"( including "Judge Dread",of course) "V for Vendetta",the Jam ,the Clash,The Specials..i'm getting carried away with my arguement here,we want something to kick against but we dont want a bunch of whack-jobs,starting World War 3 in the name of God.
Obama has just GOT to win..the Republican duo will just keep the USA the laughing stock overseas that Dubya has so successfully created.( Was THAT "creationism"?..oh no that's CRETINISM, i always get those mixed up)
Sad thing is ,it looks like the whack jobs have it. the Iranians voted in Ahmedinejahd ,the U.S seem ready to "Go Fundamental " too..why oh why couldnt Obama and Clinton "bury the hatchet" and have her run as vice President? (Pride i suppose.)..The appointment of Palin is an obvious counter to the failure to do just that!
In the U.K we now have a similarly unpopular leader, and Governing Party..Even if Brown came up with a cure for cancer, solved the financial crisis, and won the Ryder Cup singlehandedly,it seems that Labour will NOT win the next Election. It goes like that sometimes. How is it that the American Electorate can even CONTEMPLATE voting Republican again!? Just a glimpse, via YouTube of the rank hypocracy on display throughout the "right-wing" media is staggering to behold. Regarding Palin versus Clinton. The same abominable vices of "womanlyness" and "hair-do" and clothing pre-occupation that were sticks to beat Hillary with ,became magically transformed into glorious virtues of Palin and her family.Unbelievable!...and it's degrading for both of them...
It should be about POLICIES of course, NOT personalities, and wether somebody can smile and put over the "spin" well .On that score Palin didnt even appear to know what the "Bush Doctrine" of pre-emptive War was!.On everything else,of course, she's ludicrously retro, how can anyone so blissfully ignorant ever be considered for high office?
Anyway whatever happens,i'm sure "The Boiling Point" will remain a mega source of political cartoon comment.
What gets me most is that Palin isn't there because she'll make a great VP, or reform anything, or do anything other than be female and Republican. She took this gig, this kneejerk offer that was made because she's female, and rather than say, "You know what, I'm not ready for this yet, I don't have enough experience, I need to earn my stripes," she's grabbed it with both hands. The inevitable comparisons with Hillary Clinton piss me off to no end because Hillary was there pretty much on merit. Yeah, her husband is pretty famous, but she did her time, she earned a reputation for herself. And not only does Sarah Palin not take herself or the demands of the office of the VP seriously enough to do that; not only is it insulting to Hillary's demographic to think they'll switch teams just because the Republicans put some lipstick on a pitbull - but as a woman, it pisses me off that she's not there on merit. I know there are plenty of men in positions of power and authority who aren't really there on merit either but c'mon - she's one of the most famous people on the planet right now and she's hurting the simple notion of equality. There are loads of people McCain could've picked who are more qualified than she is - but she's there cuz she wears skirts. That's pissing me off. She's gonna wind up President of the USA (if Diebold and McCain's dodgy ticker have anything to do with it) and she's gonna screw it up, big time, and those who still believe gender discrimination has any place anywhere will be saying, "Well, see? Told you a woman couldn't do it." Of course a woman could do it. Just not THAT woman.
