Cartoon: Hollywood's Glass Ceiling

Sorry, meant to post this a little while ago! What a nice surprise that such a well-made film by such a talented director actually won--I was really nervous it was going to be "Avatar" (or way worse yet, "The Blind Side").

Ted and Bendib both have good points, and I certainly have some major political differences with the Hurt Locker, but I still think it was an amazing movie and character study and that she's a very talented director. I'm completely against the unjust Iraq war in every way, but I don't feel the movie necessarily endorses it, or the rather depraved character of its protagonist.
And I don't think it's fair to say that Precious just reinforces stereotypes, as awful as M'onique's character is--have you read the book?
